How can I get big/ jacked during crew season? I understand that rowing is more of a cardio workout than a strength training one. Therefore, I won't build a lot of muscle. However, I will lift, but I am concerned about how much I will get to rest. We row 6 times a week here, and it will tax my body. My body won't get time to rest and grow. Any ideas? Should I eat like a bear?

Girlfriend calls me a "big teddy bear" ? I'm 16 (male), my girlfriend is also 16 =] My girlfriend calls me a "big teddy bear" - would you say this is a good thing or not? because I weigh quite a bit i think im about 14st8lbs/205lbs (i play a lot of rugby so it's muscle nd a bit of fat lol), but, when I was sittin on her bed once next to her, she was going towards my side a bit (spose it's an advantage but a bit embarrassin), but i love her =] but, would you say it's her callin me big, or is it good if she calls me a "big teddy bear"? cheers ;)
What is it about humans thinking that they 100% rule the world, and other beings are all big zeroes? God put us here, all of us, humans, animals, sea life, to co-exist. Why is it that everytime you turn around, we are killing an animal, out of some sort of muscle flex, showing the animal kingdom that "we rule"? In the past few days, or maybe the past weekend, a bear in Reno, Nevada, had attacked a goat. I guess the goat was a protected species. The bear was doing what comes naturally, finding food, and going after it. It's a matter of survival. Perhaps the bear has babies to feed. Anyway, they caught the bear after it attacked the goat, and they euthanized it. WHY? Who gives us the right to kill an animal? I also hate it when an animal kills a human, and then we go and kill that animal, as tit-for-tat. We humans have our environment, and the animals have theirs. We have no business going into their environment, and then bellyaching when an animal attacks us. Look at all the problems we humans are creating. SOOO many non-humans ending up on the endangered species list.
how do i not loose weight after a 70 mile week in Big Bear? not that i need to loose weight..but i definitely don't want to gain any.. i am just curious it was for my cross-country team..we went for camp for 7 days.. a lot uphill almost never ending switchbacks!!! okay i did not run all of it i walked sometimes... i get bored easily...lol (have a short attention span) plus had problems with shin splints and my hip which was hurting me cause it is weakened by a previous injury (torn hip flexor muscle about a year and a half ago) but why did i not use any weight i am 5'6 124 pounds... i understand that i do not really need to loose any. again i am just wondering why i didn't i ate pretty healthy up there too.
My dauhgter is 15 months old with low muscle tone? My daughter is 15 months old and has low muscle tone.She has been is p.t and o.t for about three months i do see improvments.But she's still not sitting but almost getting there.I find that she can't support herself with her hands when sitting.She wasen't bearing any weight on her legs and know she's starting to so that's a big improvement.I was wondering is there anyone on this board with a child with low muscle tone and how are they doing?

How much weight will i gain using creatine? Will it all be muscle? I'm thinking about taking creatine but I'm kinda a big guy. Beer belly wise. I love working out. Use to do it everyday. i stop for 5 months when i broke my leg playing football. i weight 230 lbs and i wanna gain more muscle. But will creatine make my bear belly grow bigger. And if it does do you think running 50 mins 3 times a week will counteract that. Does creatine really work well? Also should i take it after or before i workout? Im very much into heavy lifting and would like to egt the 315 bench press mark. Currently maxing out at 240. How long do you think it will take to reach 315 taking creatine? I get dedicated when working out and starting again, so i would really appreciate your help/opinions.

" i mean, jesus christ - wtf right ? its not like anything happened between ME and 'his girl' ? it was his cheating slutty gf who intitated the first move - she was so going to go down on me, its not fair. whats so great about these UFC fighters huh? i guarantee i could take most of em easily. im 5'9, and 145lbs, but im 145 all muscle. i look at guys like anderson silva, and he looks hella weak. i have real fast hands, and i would probably knock him out in a couple minutes. i think that the people in the ufc arent even that strong. im preatty sure i could take that fat redneck chuck liddell too, because he just has a big bear belly, and no muscle. the only ufc fighter that i think i would have problems with is brock lesnar, and thats because he's so fat he would just lay on top of me. i just dont think the ufc fighters are anthing special

When is the best time to go to the gym for muscle gain? So my routine consists of 10 mins high intensity cardio followed by 50 mins weight training, alternating between muscle groups on different days. I have read that training in the morning testosterone levels are the highest, leading to greater gains. I have also read that afternoon training is the best as you have two big meals in your body for energy. But then I have read evening training is best as this is when your body temperature is highest and you can lift more. Now if I was to go to the gym in the morning, would I need to eat? Surely I would have to have a substantial breakfast at least 1 hour before lifting, but would have to cut out the cardio? If I wanted to do the cardio as well I would have to eat 2 hours before, to let the food digest? What would the best food/supplements to take in the morning before training, bearing in mind I suffer from acid reflux, meaning eating big or drinking a protein shake in the morning is out of the question as I will just feel sick? In the afternoon I would be able to get 2 or 3 meals (depending on time) in my body to fuel my workout so surely this would lead to the biggest gain? Then the evening, I will not go to the gym between 5pm - 7pm because it is far to busy, this is when body temperature is highest, so I can lift more, will have plenty of energy from the day, but will this effect my sleep as I will not be going until at least 7, finishing at 8? Does anyone have any recommendations or experience?
I like men that have muscles or big bone, but fluffy on top. Like on the chunky side? People make fun? Maybe not necessarily chunky, but just look stocky or husky. But maybe if they took their shirt off they are kinda fluffy around the middle, or their cheeks are chunky. I think this is so cute, but I like them to still feel strong like they could protect me. But soft like a teddy bear! I dont like skinny men, feels gross against my body, and so does ripped cut men, they feel like tables. Is this ok? Everyone makes fun of my taste in mens body type and says I date fat men. :( They tell me I am way to gorgeous for that. Especially other guys will make fun of me. My current boyfriend is chunky, and although I think his face is cute, maybe other people don't. I know they don't. Does nutrition really make you bigger? I'm 23 and 6'5 230 lbs of muscle (I play football) and growing up I just ate a lot of candy and a few snacks every day (gummy bears, nerds, starbursts, ect). I never had a taste for meat or anything that has protein. Would I have grown bigger if I got better nutrition growing up?
question about muscle and weight gain??? I am 16 nearly 17 and i have being doin weights for a while now. I am 5 foot 9 and weight 134 pounds. I have been trying to gain muscle AND weight but i just can't. I know ur gonna say eat more but i am!!! I eat 5-6 meals a day. I eat protein with every meal so it can't be that. I don't play any sports anymore and all i do is lift weights like 3 times a week which is not overdoing it. I live in a small town and i can't get any supplements or anything like that but i should'nt need it some people my age are big and muscly and they eat a load of crap. btw i am skinny and not fat. i don't have a six pack tho. any tips on what to eat bearing in mind i live in shitty old ireland and i can't get as many high protein foods here.
How do I get ripped and big but also have good anaerobic endurance and explosive power. For real world stuff.? I want to get big but I don't want to gain too quickly as I want to be able to punch and kick and lift heavy, but still have good anaerobic endurance. What exercises should I do to bledn strength and endurance and get powerfull ,and strong for real life, while staying lean and impressive looking. I figured squats, and bear hug type exercises, rounded back lifting along with staright back barbell moves with heavier weigths. Also core stuff, and hitting the heavy bag. I wnat a big and powerful chest but don't realy wnat to bench, are explosive and weigthed pushups enough? I plan to stack milk crates or cinder blocks high enough that I can only manage 5-6 per set, and do multiple sets, for strength and mass. And also weighted and one arm pushups. I also plan to get bigger with weigthed dips, pushups, pull-ups an chins and handstand pushups, so I can gain weight as I also retain and improve on the ability to move my own body, I especially wnat to improve on weighted muscle ups. Should I just do anaerobic fighter style conditioning and work on explosive and max strength with low rep sets and hjust eat a whole bunch more, or should I do multiple stes of low reps to up the volume while keeping the strength building, and eat more.And also can I get ripped, while getting big. I wnat to eat a whole lot more, while keeping the high intensity conditioning aspect of my workouts. Maybe shorten them even but make more intense, Example yesterday I did 5 sets of fifteen burpees as fast and jumping high as I could followed by 100 meter sprints as fast as I could, jogged slowly back to finish, this took 11:30 seconds total. Ineed more help for my strength however. Realworld applicable, such as sandbag shouldering, and ebar hug lifts. Like if I needed to lift a washer up stairs. Or restrain an attacker, mayb even just knock him out. So basically I need the conditioning of an amatuer boxer or wrestler, real wordl strength and look ripped and muscular. any help?
How to deal with sesamoiditis under big toe? I've had sesamoiditis on and off under my right big toe. I'm not sure what started it,but I think it was a combination of running and golf. With golf, I did something stupid (in retrospect), by practicing 1/2 swings indoors during the winter. I realized during the 1/2 swings, I wasn't moving my weight properly from right to left on the downswing - probably from fear of overswinging and recking something in my house. That meant leaving my weight back on right foot so the ball of the foot was balancing a lot of weight. Anyway, I was putting some mileage on (I'm low mileage due to a knee issue - the opposite knee from the problem foot) about 3X week, 4 to 8K per session, just after practicing the golf. I can't say for certain which caused the problem, but it had to be one or both. I do have very high arches. I've done lots of massage using fingers and rolling my foot on a golf ball and stretch the area. I will ice if it flames up and occasionally take Advil (but I don't like to do that due to potential issues with internal organs). I also do exerices, e.g. using my toes to grip a towel, etc. I've cut running right out, but still cycle and use the ellipiptical in the gym - both are low impact, but impact nonetheless. I also use off the rack 3/4 orthotics - I'm not 100% convinced an expensive pair of customer orthotics will make a difference. I'd been using Nike Torch in the gym and just bought a pair of Nike Air Max Moto. Other activity I do: in the gym I do hack squats (easier on feet than squats) calf raises, and lots of non-weight bearing exercises for core muscles and stabilizers, e.g. 1 legged balance and reach; leg levers, standing on one foot with eyes closed, etc. I find that these can aggravate sometimes since muscles around the ball of the foot is important for balance and stability. I also walk my dog for 1 hr day. The problem has gone on for about 1 1/2 years, on and off. I can go for a few weeks with it feeling fine and then weeks with it flaring up everytime I hit the gym. Only on rare occasions has it been dabililitating during walking. In fact, the best if felt since it first occured was on vacation in Maui last year - we did a ton of walking in good hiking shoes and lots of swimming and snorkeling. I'm thinking the warm weather may have helped a lot. The problem returned when I started running again. Any recommendations anybody can give would be greatly appreciated. What I'm thinking next is accupuncture and possibly shockwave therapy.

i need some advice on this...serious advice....? there's this teacher at my school... he wasn't here today (tuesday) , but i'm a little nervous; this was last monday : i was trying to leave so i could go home. i was getting ready to go, & the teacher was standing between the door (checking to see if it was locked). then he he closed the door, took my bookbag off & put it on a table behind me. next, he picked me up & gave me a big bear hug; i couldnt breathe. fast forward 2 last friday: no one was in class (exept me & 2 other kids) & i had to finish this little project i was making for a friend of mine. i was on the table at the time, coloring like a little kid does on the floor when they lay on their belly. at the beginnning of the class, the teacher tells me "get off the table." i said "hold on, im finishing this heart i have to make." he tells me again: "get off the table." i ignore him. he then asks me: "do u want a spanking?" i was suprised he asked me that. the 2 other kids didnt say a word, but one of the kids' reaction was one of suprise. he asks me again: "do u want a spanking?" i tell him "no" & got off the table. time passes & this kid (super-annoying geek) bothers me. after about roughly half hour, the class is finally over. then i focus so much on coloring my little heart that i get back up on the table on my belly like before. this is when the teacher left the room for a brief moment. im so lost in my own world, wondering if i could finish my heart that i didnt even pay attention to the teacher coming & closing the door. (annoyed) i didnt really get off the table, i just rolled on my back (knees in the air) & rubbed my eyes. i hear footsteps coming from the other side of the table & then b4 i knew it he teacher gently grabbed my leg pulling me toward him. he began to push my leg up toward my body, stretching that hamstring (that muscle in your leg or whatever) he then asked me "how flexible are you?" i told him i could stretch my leg up to my head. in response, he tld me his neibor (or something) could put both legs behind their heads. after that i get off the table, & i apologize for any & every time i was rude/disrespectful in his class. he says "u weren't disrespectful" or something along those lines (cant remember 2 well). then he picks me up & gives me a nice hug. he tells me "your so cute" i was wondering when he'd put me down... finally after like i think roughly 3-4 minutes (2 long for a hug) he puts me down, tell him bye then i leave. should i be worried?? knowing its like 1 week until the end (school is out May 28) should i tell someone or is it 2 late? im not really bothered by it, i just thought i should tell someone. im not stressing out over it either. one of my friends said i shouldnt do it -2 late schools almost out ...im thinking its not a big deal it was something that literally "just happened." im not going to read anything into it, im not going to stress or overanalyze this whole thing. just wanted some opinions. im not worried about it.

how many more calories do you burn running than walking? okay i run cross country... but it is mainly to stay in shape...the problem is... i have a short attention span and i get bored on the 7 mile runs...and just want to start walking after about 4. sometimes i'm not tired, but my legs are sore from shin splints and my hip is sore cause i have a weak hip due to a previous injury, and i just want to stop. do i still burn a lot of calories. How can I equalize my muscles? I have two weird stories, so please bear with me ><; First, I was playing my Wii Sports and I gained a lot of muscle in my right arm, but not so much my left. I've tried to do the same thing with my left, and I've tried to lift weights with it, but to no success... What should I do to make my left stronger? Second, I was standing for a long time and I seemed to have put more weight on my right leg than my left. Now my right is bigger than my left slightly. What should I do for that?

Fast Physical development. Isn't it about muscle building and risk taking? 3 Background facts before question : 1 ) I have always had an interest in resistance training. I know I am stronger when I consume more calories regardless of training. If calories are decreased, I become weaker. This isn't quite the case for sit-ups, as the body becomes lighter, but bear in mind a babies main weight is the head, not huge shoulders and chest. 2) Our baby never had a chance to practice sitting up because of hard floors. We tried to let her on a mat and on the bed at night but it wasn't the same as when I was a kid and had thick carpets. 3) Our baby eats extremely healthy right from 6 months. She naturally has no appetite for sweets (maybe because her mum ate no junk and lots of veg in the womb ) Consequently she has always been slim and dainty compared to many fat babies the same age we see. Now my question : - I know if I fed her lots of muscle building calories, even in the form of mcdonalds, she would at least be stronger. Thats the laws of physics and I would assume she would be rolling over and pulling herself up earlier. If I let her take a few bangs to the head, she would have had far more resistance training at the expense of a few more bruises If my theory is right, and these reasons are the reasons for quicker development, then surely we shouldn't all boast about how strong our babies are. The 'bigger picture' things to worry about are Cancer, heart problems in later life, diabetes, and of course bangs to the head cant be good for Never mind looking like a bull dog :) Reply : -My Baby Fall Aslleep smiling. Asuming an olympic athelete is the ultimate in human physical perfection, it has more to do with motivation, fast twitch muscle fibres, hormones, bone structure and a low heart beat. What has rolling over early got to do with this? There is no evidence that the 2 are related or to suggest early developers wont be couch potatoes :)

Why do the care so much there not dating him? So me and my friends are all volleyball players so we stay in shape, and they think that we should date someone that is athletic as well or at least someone who works out. Okay so that's great for them, but I like big guys I don't know why but I always have. There like my strong teddy bear, I mean I'm not saying 290 pounds big, but tall and big like muscle/solid big if that makes since. So my current boyfriend is a pretty big guy, and my friends keep saying oh you can do so much better, and how I should get a smaller guy with an six or eight pack instead. I think Samme Came Back? I have never had this happen before nor did I believe it. But I honestly think my yellow lab Samme came back. Samme died about a year ago, he died because he could not walk anymore. He was 15 years old when he died and it broke my heart. I had Samme since I was 6 years old that is a long time and I still miss him. Last month was the anniversary of when he died it was a year ago. I kept seeing yellow labs like days after he died. And even when we went to get a new dog, I saw a yellow lab that looked exactly like him. Now here is the freaky part and I know this sounds stupid but this actually happened. I work at an animal shelter and we got this yellow lab in. Picked up as a stray and I looked at the dog. I swear I thought I was seeing a ghost, he had that white white fur and those big brown eyes. He was even as big as Samme was. Samme at his heaviest was a 105 pounds and it was all muscle mind you. He even asks like Samme, he has that same bark that sounds just like a bear. Its why Samme had the nickname polar bear, because he looked just like one and when he barked he sound like a big old bear. This dog has the same bark and the he looks just like a big old bear. And he sheilds just like Samme did, just white fur everywhere. He is mean like Samme was, he hates other dogs and he doesn't like anybody he doesn't know. Samme hated other dogs but mellowed out with old age and he didn't like anyone who he didn't know or didn't come into the house. I don't if its true or not but I honestly think this is my Samme. The one characteric of Samme is he doesn't like other dogs. And this dog doesn't like other dogs either. But I have been working with him and gotten him to like Harley. Is he being honest OR will HE END IT? My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and four weeks now. I actually am his first real long relationship I guess you could say... His last relationship, they only dated for 6 months. It's not that he's not good looking or girls don't like him, he was just really involved in MLB tryouts and really wanted to look for that long term relationship instead of going girl to girl so he tried not to date too much. He is 6'3 at 265lbs....nothing but muscle... He has brown hair and blue eyes. He's VERY handsome but VERY shy and doesn't really like to socialize because of it. When he was a freshmen in high school him and his family moved to a new state. Well at the time he was 6'2 and already weighed 230lbs (he weight lifted everyday since his 7th grade) so being a freshmen and looking like a BEAST scared alot of kids... Senior girls loved him and senior guys liked to hang out with him but everyone else made fun of him .. For four years he was made fun of because of how big he was. They would tell him that he was too big and call him names like hulk or sasquatch. And ever since, he has had low self esteem, no self confident, hates big crowds because he thinks everyone is looking at him... So the high school experience for him was a bad one. When I met him he was kinda shy and timid but once I got to know him he was the funniest person and had a great personality, very handsome and he's all around a great guy. But he was still shy timid and wasn't social. I love that he's a big guy, I've dated big guys like that my whole life, basically football players. Ever since we have been dating I have made his confidence better, made him more social, made his self esteem better. Let him find out that he can have an opinion and talk and feel what he thinks, I let him out of his shell. How do you motivate your spouse to lose weight? I'm so stressed out about it!? My husband is a big guy, always has been. I am very attracted to the "lineman" type of guys, I like the big teddy bear-protector types. The problem is because my husband is a bigger guy he really needs to watch his weight to make sure he doesn't gain excess amounts because he is already overweight and already has a bigger body type. He is getting older (early 30s) and had quit exercising and golfing because of his job demands and therefore has put on probably 90 lbs in the past 3 years, putting him at about 440 lbs at 6'4. He has high blood pressure and obstructive sleep apnea. I suspect he is diabetic also but the test keep saying no. He is grumpy all the time (he probably feels crappy and doesn't even realize it) and ALWAYS tired. The really hard part is that I am a nurse and I know exactly what is going to happen - he WILL have a heart attack at some point. He carries all of his excess weight in his stomach. His legs and arms still show a lot of muscle mass, and I know carring your weight in your stomach area is the most dangerous. We have had so many talks, arguments and tears over this. He says he wants to lose weight, he goes to the doctor and we eat healthy and with smaller portions, however I can tell with his metabolism this is obviously not enough. He NEEDS to exercise and at least 5 days a week but I think he feels defeated because he is so tired when he gets home from work the last thing he wants to do is go exercise, he just wants to relax. I have cried and cried and cried about this. He is killing himself and he WILL not do the one thing he needs to do to fix it - EXERCISE. What do I do? How can I motivate him? Can't he see that he's killing himself? I exercise all the time and he will go for walks with me or the gym maybe 1 out of ever 8-10 times but then he ALWAYS has an excuse the next few times on why not to go (The gym is too hot, it's too hot outside, my knee hurts, I'm tired, I promise I'll go next time, etc..........). Please help me! Very much would like lap-band or gastic bipass but our health insurance doesn't cover it. It's $60,000 otherwise.

weight lifting??????????? Hey, i started weight lifting for the first time 5 days ago now, my muscles feel fine now, but when i put my arms down to my side vertically, they feel stretched as though they aren't fully healed, with a very slight amount of pain, but not much at-all! :] Should i weight lift today???? Or do i have to wait ANOTHER day for them to completely heal, or is it ok to weight lift now??? Bearing in mind its been 5 days since i last lifted :[ i think i lifted a little bit too much last time.. I want whatever is best for getting big muscles quickly, So should i lift today???????????????????????????? PREFACE Death- death was someone or something that hunted me. I had stared into the hollow eyes of death more than I should have. But each time I had walked into death I had walked out of it. Surely this was not where I was going to die? Was this the feeling you got when you knew you were going to die. What was dying to the undead? Instead of imprisonment was it a journey? Surely this was not the worst place to die. I had all the people I loved. All my family. I had everyone. If I was going to die it would be in a noble manner. With the ones I loved. I knew death was coming and I knew I could run. Far away from all of this. But how could you run when you would endanger, hurt someone you loved so much. Loved with all you heart, yet were not able to save. How could you hurt them? This was the end, or was it? As thoughts of love and death ran through my head a mysterious darkness rolled out from the forest line. New Day The evening sun shone unevenly through the white clouds. The sky was painted in underwater colours of all shades. The smell of the salty water from the rolling sea drifted across the white sanded beach. The beach stretched for miles yet was extremely narrow lined by thick forest sprawling with wildlife. The illuminated the skins of my family glittered like diamonds. Upon the large woven red blanket sat all of my family in the centre of the beach. Emmet’s big muscles rippled as he turned to embrace golden haired Rosalie. Ok people, I am getting no answers, and I really need an interpretation ? We then run into (this scared me half to death) a giant bear that roars at us. We are scared stiff and don’t move. When two other, MUCH larger bears approach it, the one that is slightly larger than it, swallows it whole, then the other bear (the biggest) swallows it. The bear then looks at us and roars. A band of other bears, its size, appear and charge us. We both turn and run for our lives. The dream kind of shifts, I’m still running, but I’m seeing into the head murderers mind, he is Satan and he tells me that he is the one who has sent the bears after me and he is going to send all the park’s vehicles after me too (I get a vision of them all starting up), he also tells me that he WILL kill me. Suddenly I am alone and in a wooded swamp area that is supported by bridges. There is an earthquake and all the bridges crumple. I then feel strangely empowered, and rise up in the air (I get another vision and see everyone I am wanting to be safe rise up also) and begin to fly over the ruined bridges and through the woods. I get scared and falter a little, but something gives me back my courage. I hear a loud voice, God’s, which says (I can’t remember the exact words, it’s some sort of Bible verse I think) and I so love you that (I can’t remember the rest, but it’s all about Him loving me and giving me the strength I need to fight and win). I then get this horrific image of a human without skin, that every time he speaks, the muscle rises up and the lips pucker together like a kiss. It says that the murderer (Satan) will get what he deserves. I then have the vision of the murderer’s body suddenly convulsing and twisting into this awful position, his spine snaps, lighting flashes, and he changes into a skeleton. This dream (nightmare) scared me so bad. This is actually only half of the dream, the whole thing was so long that no one was answering :( What even made this even more creepy was there was a Spanish cleaning woman before the beginning of this sequence warning me of bad things to come. I forgot most of what she said though... She was really scary and then laughed when she was done talking to me.
Diet for losing body fat and maintaining muscle.? Im hoping this is a good place to post this. Basicly ive been training for a year and ive got to the stage where i dont want to get any bigger or my t shirts and jackets wont fit me as well, they will just hang. Im 19 and im in good shape with a good diet and i have a good knowledge of nutrtion, when to eat, how and why. Im not one to give into simple pleasures to please the tastebuds. My daily intake atm for losing body fat is: Calories: 1382 bit more depending how much fruit or yoghurt i eat. Protein: 120.4 Carbohydrates: 142.4 Fat: 40.84 Any advice. Obviously im still growing so my body will need a bit more than the average bear to keep growing! acai berry dosnt work stop spamming my topics with the stupid stuff...
I'm torn both ways, and I don't think it means bisexual. What am I? I lust after men. I love their bodies and cocky attitudes and things of that nature. I've been told time and time again that I don't like the normally attractive guys. I like big beefy guys, be it with muscle, hair, whatever. Vincent D'onofrio fits perfectly as to what my taste is. If you want to say bear chaser, go right ahead, but I know I like more than just bears. The problem is, that's all I feel with guys. LUST. If I lose enough weight, can I change how I am built? I am 6'3", about 250-55 lbs (peak was about 265, I have lost some since), around 32% body fat. My goal is to lose as much size as possible. I don't care if I lose muscle...I want to look smaller, not just leaner, especially in regards to my upper body...meaning I don't want to have a big chest or broad shoulders. At least once a month, someone makes some remark about me and football, and it makes me feel terrible inside to think I resemble some big oafish football player type. I dont care if some girls find big men attractive...I would rather be alone than date a girl who loved how big I am. Please understand that Im not saying that I get tons of attention from females...but part of the reason I hate my size (other than my personal aesthetics) is because I never, ever attracted anyone I found attractive, either physically or otherwise. Instead, I got a lot of desperate types with major daddy issues, who wanted a big man to protect them and believed that it was a mans "responsibility" to take care of them. I just want to be attractive on my terms, which very well may be impossible since I am also bald, but at the very least, I can avoid being seen as some big "teddy bear" type.

How do I "unlock" my pecs? Hello, I have been working out for a while now. Starting in the summer and until now I have been trying to get in better muscular shape for wrestling season. I am looking for a way to really increase my pectoral size. Not just in size but in strength. I have split my workout into three days. On day one is Pecs/Triceps. For my pecs I do: push up 35 reps, 6 sets (all throughout the day) Bench Press 6-10 reps, 5 sets Incline Bench Press: 6-10 reps, 3 sets Dumbell Flys: 6-10 reps, 3 sets Incline Dumbell Flys: 6-10 reps, 3 sets Am I doing something wrong or does chest take a while to work out. Bear in mind I only do this every three days, because I don't want to overwork them and pull any muscles. So back to my question? Is the workout enough to increase my pec size? If not, what can I do to make it bigger? Or is this enough but it just takes time. Thanks, Conner

How can i build leg muscle at home ? I was born with chicken legs and i have pretty toned thighs from strength training at my school, but im also a big dancer with my high school team and i am always embarassed of my skinny legs when we wear cut pants..i go up on my tip toes and back down over and over at home like 60 times to try and build muscle but it doesnt seem like im getting anywhere.. im sure it just takes time..but anyone have any better suggestions to help ?
When we do weight lifting, with adequate protein intake, does it increase the number of muscle cells? or are we born with certain number of muscle cells (which means that number of muscle cells remain relatively constant throughout our life span) and we only increase the size of each muscle cells? obviously when we do weight lifting, our arms become bigger, and I am curious whether it is that the number of muscle cells in that particular area (arms) increases, or it is that the size of each muscle cells get bigger (in this case, does the number of muscle cells remain constant?)! Please explain to me in detail. if you can explain in molecular level, how protein takes a role in this situation, that would be extremely helpful! Please explain what actually happens as we move the weights up and down, what happens to our orginal muscle cells, in detail, and how they tear up and recover, how in physiology our muscles are bigger in the end, in terms of how the muscle cell is different from the orginal (before trained) cell. Weird body - Can anyone help? I have a very unusual body, in fact I´m yet to see another guy that would have a body like me. I don´t mean that in a good way. My upper body is small, maybe a bit too small. And my lower body (from the waist down) is too big. Question about my tonsils..? My right tonsil is bigger than my left (left is normal and small) and it has huge craters in them. how are people born with muscle? I have two examples. My brother, he is 14 and he can bench 210 lbs, and never worked out in his life, i mean he plays football but he has extremely strong legs and arms, and never worked out before. Also, there is this freshmen at my school who looks strong as in beefy, hes got a strong neck, calves and his upper body looks strong but he never works out, during football, the seniors were like " jesus that kids big". is it about genes or something? yea im pretty strong, but id like to have the stockier look, not like a skinny strong kid

Why are some people naturally predisposed to having stronger not larger muscles than others? I think I was born with naturally stronger muscles than other kids because I would be able to wrestle multiple kids my size and win and later when I worked out with kids and their muscles always seemed bigger and more defined than mine but I could lift more weight than them.(im not a fat guy though I used to be slightly chubby but now im pretty defined but not with big muscles so im kinda skinny) You know how powerlifters are usually not huge guys(most of them are fat but if you took away the fat their not that huge) but their muscles can lift really heavy weights thats what mine are like. I find it good because Im always stronger than people expect but bad because I dont have larger muscles to match my strength which makes me feel aesthetically inadequate to the average person of close to the same strength as mine. Im wondering if its genetic though I wouldnt say thats the case since im half european half native but people say i look more spanish. But those 2 races dont have that quality from my knowledge so im stumped.

I'm Built Like a TRUCK - Can Surgery Fix This? I hate being built like I was born to be a workhorse. I'm 5'10, but I'm 145 lb. I'm not "fat" per se, but I have a *HUGE* frame. Neck: 12 in Waist: 27.5 in Hips: 40!! (there's fat on my derriere, but none on my hips to speak of! It all feels like bone.) Wrist: 6.25 in I'm 17, and the hips and large build in general makes me miserable. I really don't think there is a single woman with bigger BONES (NOT fat or muscle) than me. I've never met anyone with a thicker wrist or bigger hips than me, unless it was covered by a pillow of fat. Is there a surgery that can reposition or shave off bones? It is definitely NOT in my plans to have kids, so please don't say that my hips are "womanly", or "good for childbearing", because that's the last thing I want. You can't tell me to just "accept" and "love" my own body, because you're not the one stuck with it.
He has always been a big boy? My son is 5 yrs old and weighs 77lbs and is 4ft tall. When he was born he was 9.5 lbs and 23 inches born at 41 weeks. His father is 6ft 300 lbs of muscle and myself...well I am not over weight but at the same time I am not skinny. i do have a large frame. I am only 5 ft but very curvey 160 lbs. Just curious as to how big (weight and height) you would predict my son to be at 16. My son is healthy and not over weight in any way. Has anyone else owned a cat born with half a tail? What are they called and what was/is cool about it's disposition? I have one and he is a great cat! Why is it I'm not getting bigger muscles.? I was born a small guy. I weigh 142 and 5-5. I have been working out for around 2 years now. I can now lift probably double of what i could do when I started. I can bench around 175 all the way down and 225 when i don't go all the way down. So i'm strong for my size. I'm 13 years old, 150lbs, and 5'4. How can I lose at least 5-10 lbs by the end of December? I was born with a heart condition so I feel that I have to lose weight. Especially with my arms there kinda of big and i do like 10-15 push ups, but now and then i feel disgusted because i see all the other girls who are smaller than me but there shape kind of balances out.(Talk about genetics) Please respond.
What is this called does anyone know? I was in a weird position when i was in my mums tummy or something and was born with a big lump thing on my neck, the doc said to me that it was like a blood clot or something in my muscle and that they cal it a something tumor!! its not really a tumor but that is what they call it! anyone kno what its called like (...........) tumor! thanks
Gaining weight and Building muscles? I am 17 going on 18, weight 70 kilos, 6'3 tall and I want to gain weight to build muscles, I am skinny as a rake. I road down the street past a car and the guys at the car said "Jesus hes got skinny arms" and yes I do, Ive never really done weights, but I've been active all my life, as a baby I was born 9pounds 10 ounces, but as soon as I got my legs I was up and running and riding 2 wheeled bikes at the age of 2. When I was 4 I started basketball which I have now been playing for neally 14yrs. When I was younger my mum used to be surprised at how much I could eat, I just wouldn't stop eating, but never gained weight. For a period of my life I was a heavy Coca-Cola drinker. I sometimes drank 2 litres a day, and I have quit because it ruined my stomach a little bit, but I still played sport. So now I want to gain weight, and build fairly big muscles for my 18th bday 30th may. I believe if I do heavy weights less reps I'll get big muscles and I can just try eat alot of food? HELP ME

I am pregnant with twins. I'm actually glad I'm losing muscle. How can just burn the fat once they're born? Up until a month ago, I was dancing and teaching heavy-duty ballet. Now that I'm getting bigger, I'm good to walk 3 times a week. However, my clothes are fitting better in my legs and arms, b/c I'm losing muscle. My mom even said my legs looked the thinnest they ever had! I am very stocky and bulk up without even trying. I know I can't really focus on losing fat while I'm pregnant, but once they're out, how can I get back in shape, just losing fat and not gaining back muscle that I was so happy to lose? Thanks!

How do i become more attractive? I have nice eyes, nice teeth (very white) nice lips, very nice skin.. ect.. only not nice thing is a bigger nose i weigh 182 pounds and i'm 6'2.. i have a smaller frame so its a good weight (muscle).. what could i do.. i'm a firm believer that people can change how they look if they want. Heart surgery has made me ugly, so how do I get a date? I was born with a heart problem that required many surgeries to correct. Now I have disfiguring scars on my chest and side. I'm finally healthy (as much as I can be with my defect) but I'm never going to have big muscles or be very athletic. I'm not much to look at, so how am I going to find a girl thats attractive to me (I have the same desires any other guy has) I cant compete with normal healthy guys and their looks, so what do I do? I've never really dated, but I'm finally healthy @ 20 & would like to start, but I'm afraid I'll get rejected because of this.
Stupid question...but do your stomach muscles work again after giving birth? Every pregnant woman knows it's nearly impossible to get up from a sitting or lying position when your belly gets big enough. I can't believe how much effort it requires just to push myself up! Will I be able to get up much easier after the baby is born? This is my first child, so I am truly clueless! :) Thanks!
Girls: do you prefer a quiet or a loud man? Just wondering. I'm a (very) quiet dude and at school most people are tripped out by this. I guess it's because people would like to stereotype me as a jock but I'm really the complete opposite. I'm 6'2 with green eyes and big muscles, played football for 3 years and did a year of wrestling. Most people before they come up and talk to me would think I'm a loud and overconfident character. I'm really the opposite. I'm pretty much a complete nerd with like 3 or 4 real friends.. Play videogames and do online crap all-day and work out for entertainment. Haven't even had a real girlfriend and I'm 17. Most of that probably wouldn't be a problem if I was so DAMN quiet, but it's like programmed into me..like a curse I was born with. I think that most girls must just feel more comfortable around louder characters but it's just a guess. I want to read what you have to say about it.

are there any types of martial arts? are there any types of martial arts that just focus on your upper body? here's the deal, i am a 16 yr old dude who was born with a club foot, and have had multiple surgeries on it, so i dont have very good speed or mobility/balance in my lower body. but i have very good strength in my upper body. i am a big guy (6'0, 230 lbs) so im not the fastest guy, but most of the weight is muscle. i am not that blubery. anyway, i was just wondering if there was any type of martial art that would be good for me? i dont mind meditating and all that stuff. i do that regularly anyway, i have very strong hands, arms, sholders, and chest. what is a good martial art for me? thanks.
Can I be a pretty boy with brown hair? Ehh... okay well see I get called a pretty boy but I'm not really pretty or anything because of a somewhat minor/major blackhead problem. But also see I don't know if they mean it because my hair is sorta brown (born blonde) with black-like, somewhat big eyebrows. Also my eye color is like green. I'm trying to work out at the gym to get muscles but it seems to only make me skinner and skinner, which I get too many comments on everyday. So yeah, I know the perfect idea of a guy to some people is blonde hair, blue eyes, which I'd kill to have. I do take too much attention to my physical features that I can approve...though....
