Fitness ? I have been chosen to go to a trial day for my netball. It is held a few days after school starts again, and because we have christmas coming up and i haven't done a sport over summer i was wondering if anyone knew ways to get my fitness level back up. fitness...? i am a female in my mid teens and i want to get fit. i have access to a treadmill and an excercise bike. to give you an idea of my current fitness, i can run on the treadmill at 8 km/h for 20 minutes without getting too tired. please be specific.
What fitness and nutrition certification should I go with? Serious question ... Looking for second career to keep me busy & am looking to finally get a job that I enjoy. Would like to be a general fitness trainer at the gym and am looking for a course that is comprehensive, not-crazy hard, and a good value for the money. It would need to be primarily distance learning, something internationally recognized preferred, a year or less to complete, and the cost under $4K.
What is your vision of a fitness program? I am a coordinator for a university and was just given permission to start my own fitness program. It can be for anyone, students, community, staff. I wanted to know ideas of things people would want in a fitness program. How can I make the best one possible. Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated.
What is the difference between a fitness and bike and a road bike? I am a regular mountain biker, but like to road-ride, too. However, my full-suspension is way too much drama for the pavement and even my hardtail is too heavy for efficient road travel. I want something lighter and better suited. The problem is, I am not super fond of the "feel" of road bikes. I saw that Trek (my fave) had "fitness" bikes and "urban" bikes and I am wondering if anyone can tell me what are the advantages/disadvantages to choosing a fitness or urban bike over a road bike? THANKS! :) Just to add, a fitness bike is not a stationary bike. It is an actual style of bicycle like urban, road, mountain, triathalon, etc. I was just hoping that someone had some info on what might be better suited for me. Thanks to anyone who can help!
What is a good fitness dvd for loosing weight? I want to loose about 20 pounds in 1 month. I am very lazy and I would like to get a fitness dvd that is helpful but you don't have to work as hard. Unlike the Jillian Michael's dvd. Thankyou very much.

What's a fitness plan that I can follow to lose excess fat mostly in the lower body parts? I know spot reduction is impossible and losing fat occurs to the whole body so I need suggestions of a fitness plan that I can follow to lose excess fat especially in the lower body part (bum, upper thigns) I'm slim in the upper body parts but it's just my large bum that I'm unconfident about. What is a good fitness bar to eat after a workout? My workout routine usually consists of running 1.5 miles and doing different types of weight training. I wanting to lose 10-12 pounds that I have put on after entering college, but this has been a very hard task for me thus far. What kind of teas and fitness waters are actually good for you? I drink propel fitness water when I work out and other then that I only drink straight water the rest of the time. I occasionally have a mountain dew or alcoholic beverages. But in terms of all the flavored water drinks out there(lifewater, vitamin water, etc) and the green teas(too many brands to list), which one of them are healthy to drink? Or should I just stick with plain water.

How do I keep my running fitness up during the winter months in snow? How much is the effect of alcohol on my fitness level? I am an athlete and I play pro basketball at my local club. I also am an occasional jogger and love to play other sports as well. But occasionally I go out on weekends and consume alot of alcohol. Im talking about beer, rum, tequila, vodka, and many other kinds! I dont get to the state of getting drunk, because I usually stop when I feel like Im getting there. I know that alcohol cant be good in any form, but I just would like to know what kind of damage are we talking about here? What are those fitness walk trails with exercise stations called? Back in Girl Scouts we would go on a hike at a park that would have a fitness trail. Along the fitness trail there would be stations set up where you do jumping jacks, pull-ups, walking a beam, etc. I have seen them by office buildings and apartment complexes too. How do I start to workout when my fitness level is Zero? I'm not seriously overweight, only a little but I have zero endurance and a horrible fitness level. I'm winded after walking short distances. How do I improve fitness in a week? I'm not talking about losing weight. I've been training some for a physical fitness test required for a job I'm applying for...I have to do 18-22 pushups, run 1.5 miles in 14-15:20 minutes, and do at least 28 situps in a minute. Currently, I have not made the 1.5 miles in 15 minutes. I'm a couple of minutes shy. I've been doing pushups every day, but not as good about running. Now it is crunch time. I was just informed this morning that my test is next thursday. We did not have more notice than this. What should I do in the meantime to maximize the little time I have left to train? Please realize I'm not looking for miracles, I know you can't get into the best shape of your life in one week's time, but this is what I have to work with. How can I do it best? How do I start a career in fitness? I am making a career change, from law to fitness. Fitness has been a lifelong passion of mine. As a kid, I skied (and taught skiing), danced (and taught dance), and ran. As an adult, I go to the gym 5 times a week; I do cardio, lift weights, go to classes, swim. I worked at a Y for a while, directing a youth fitness program (unfortunately the Y doesn't pay well enough). I have some Y certifications, and a BA that is totally unrelated to fitness (in economics), so I'm basically starting out from scratch. I don't know exactly what kind of career in fitness I might like to pursue... what are the options? I am looking for any and all starter tips. What should I wear to an interview for a fitness club summer camp position? I have an interview for a position as a summer camp counselor at a large fitness club (lifetime fitness) on saturday. The position is described as being very active, and in the initial phone call they told me their ideal candidate is someone who is very fun and active, willing to get down and play with the children. I am twenty years old, so i want something young and that shows I am fun. How to you assemble the Pro Fitness Magnetic exercise bike from Argos? I recently bought the pro fitness magnetic exercise bike form Argos (£59.99), but am having problems assembling it. It says you have to disconnect the resistance adjustment from the trimming lead before putting the trimming lead through the handlebar post hole and reconnecting again. Cant get them disconnected as its in tension. Has anyone else bought and assembled this?

Are fitness and energy drinks good for you? My boyfriends 12 year old son has moved in with us. When he lived in Idaho with his mother she gave him fitness and engery drinks. Now he wants to drink them here, he says they wake him up in the morning. He is not active in sports and the only exrcise he gets is riding his bike around the neighborhood.
