Body Myths

I didn't make a very healthy choice...?

I didn't read the nutrition facts before deciding to eat a 60-cal broccoli & cheese Green Giant pack instead of a 70-cal vegan Boca patty. I found out afterward that the broccoli & cheese sauce pack had 3 g of fat, 1 g saturated fat, while the patty had only 0.5 g total fat, and 0 g saturated fat. The patty also had more protein and other vitamins, so I'm feeling SO guilty for eating the pack instead of the patty. I had whole grain cereal for breakfast with a banana, raisins, and almonds; an apple as a snack, one taco bell burrito for lunch. This was my after-lunch snack, but I know we'll be having some fried food for dinner, so I really didn't want more fat in my day. I've learned my lesson, but I feel so terrible. How do you get over these mistakes?

  1. By getting a life and just getting over it. It's sooo not a big deal.
  2. Relax, you are becoming a little obsessed. I'm sure that one day won't make you gain 20 pounds.
  3. this is obsession.. try not think about what you eat so much. everyone makes mistakes and heck, 3 g of fat is not much. your body needs fat to function.
  4. Exercise a lot! Work out until you feel tired and sweaty. That will take the guilt away quickly, because you've worked hard and you know you've burned calories.
  5. OMG, just relax,, eating the broccoli thing just this once is not going to kill you or anything,, plus your body need fat to absorb vitamins and everything.....don't feel horrible,, it sounds to me that you have a ED...talk to someone aobut it
  6. I make mistakes like that all the time. Just stay focused on the big picture. It won't make any difference in the long run. Just get back on your diet and stay focused.
  7. Just get over it, and make a healthy choice next time you have a choice like that.
  8. To tell you the truth I believe that the taco bell is much worst than the broccoli. If you don't want to commit these errors anymore don't eat industrialized products, they have a lot of hidden fats and calories and stop eating fast food like taco bell. http://www.minimizeme.tv The ups and downs of an ordinary man on a diet. 9. work out, go for a run, get active.
  10. let it go. start over tomorrow and just pay closer attention to what you eat.
  11. I kill myself :)
  12. wow ur fat
  13. hey calm down. it's not a terrible mistake. it's nothing actually. i ate a whole chocolate today. and i should eat only vegetables why don't you work out tomorrow so you could lose all that stuff?
  14. Chill. While the vegetables with the cheese sauce is not the best choice, it's not the worse, either. The Green Giant veggies with the cheese sauce has the "Best Life" logo on it, but after reading the ingredients (I think it has something like partially hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, and other artificial stuff in it), I don't know what is supposed to be "best" about it. However, frozen veggies are better than "fresh" as they are frozen soon after harvest so all of the good stuff is still in. "Fresh" is picked before harvest and travels many miles and manhandled many times before it's even seen in the store. Have the Boca pattie for dinner. They're great with all-natural whole wheat bread and organic ketchup. I also have them with a side of steamed frozen veggies.
  15. Stop feeling guilty. It was an accident and accidents happen. If you continue to eat healthy and exercise, this will be no problem for your body to handle. The best way to learn from this is to move on and don't keep beating yourself up about this the calorie totals on the back of a box. You enjoyed it (hopefully) and now are more educated about this particular product.
  16. Honestly, this seems so small. I think you should spend more time working on your psyche, the health of your mind at this point. It seems you are being way too obsessive.
